2013 ESA main conference in Turin: Call for papers for Sociology of Risk and Uncertainty – Research Network 22

Dear all,

This is to let you know that the main biennial ESA conference will take place in Torino, Italy, at the very end of August, 2013 (28th – 31st).

The call for papers is now open and online at http://www.esa11thconference.eu/call-for-papers

The call is a long PDF document – you will need to scroll down (a long way!) to find details about the specific call for papers for the Sociology of Risk and Uncertainty network.
If you search the document using RN22 this will help…

For the Sociology of Risk and Uncertainty call, there are a few specific streams proposed which relate to the theme of the conference – ‘Crisis, Critique, Change’.
As usual though, we also will have a more general open call and will create session themes based on the abstracts submitted. In this sense we welcome abstracts across our usual wide range of themes, such as the following:

sense-making of risk; health and risk; risk governance; risk and crime; professional approaches to risk; biographical risks; risk and emotions; trust; risk management and uncertainty; inequality and risk; risk, resilience and everyday life; social theories of risk (and of course other themes around risk and uncertainty too).

The abstract deadline is 1st February 2013 and you can submit your abstract via the online platform on the conference website.

Please pass this information on to others who may be interested and to other relevant email lists.

Warm greetings from Amsterdam,

Patrick (on behalf of Anna Olofsson and my colleagues within Research Network 22 – Sociology of Risk and Uncertainty)
